FAQs

My child is outside of the age range but really wants to do this camp. Can I sign them up?

Possibly! It’s best to reach out to Kelly to make sure the camp is a good fit. Students under the age of nine have done sitcom camps and been very successful but it could be overwhelming to many younger students.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Venmo for both cash transfers and credit cards as well as checks and hard cash. Payments must be made in full before a registration is guaranteed. After submitting a registration form you will be emailed instructions for making your payment.

What should my child bring to camp each day?

Students should bring a lunch, water bottle and extra snacks if you like. Sunscreen is also a good idea. While the schedule makes time for two snacks a day, this is strictly optional. Many kids prefer to keep working during break time but others benefit greatly from taking a few minutes to relax and change gears.

Does my child need to bring a costume or props?

The sitcoms are intentionally written to include regular kids in regular situations. For that reason, they can wear whatever they are most comfortable in. If they have an idea for a particular outfit for their character they should wear it on the last day, as that is the day we will be recording. The camp provides all props.

Does my child need to memorize lines?

No, memorization is not required. We use cue cards during rehearsals and on recording day so students can focus on performance rather than pressure. Each camper receives a printed script on the first day, which they can take home or keep at camp, and a digital version is also available on their iPad. Most students naturally become familiar with their lines by the end of the week—but they’re never expected to have them memorized.

Is this camp a good fit for kids without acting experience?

Absolutely! While experienced performers will find plenty to challenge and inspire them, this camp is designed to welcome beginners as well. Whether your child is brand new to acting or simply a little shy, we focus on creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where they can build confidence, take creative risks, and discover their comedic voice. Our goal is to meet each camper where they are and help them grow.

When will the sitcom be ready to view

Students will get to help with editing the sitcom during camp hours but once the camp ends, the sitcom goes through audio editing and has captions added. The final version will be emailed to families within three days of the end of camp.

How will my child know what role they will play?

The beauty of this sitcom camp is that the scripts are incredibly flexible. The show is written to give everyone an even distribution of lines and in most cases, the personality of each character can be shaped and enriched by the child who takes it on. For that reason, we have had great success with children working together and figuring out who will play each part with little or no struggle.
